Why we don't offer the basic service on European cars
European vehicles require removal of engine covers and lower covers, and computer scans, and are generally more complex to work on. That takes more time than a 19-point service allows, and doing it properly matters more than doing it cheaply. European cars get the full 32-point service.
Cambelts — worth reading before you compare quotes
Like any part, cambelts and timing belts wear out. Replace it before it breaks. We do cambelt replacements on all vehicles, specialising in European — Alfa Romeo, VW, Audi, BMW, Renault, Peugeot, Citroën, Volvo and SAAB — and we have the special tools and the know-how to do the job properly.
When comparing quotes, be aware that a lower price can indicate not all necessary rotating parts and oil seals are being replaced. Failure of those parts can cause cambelt failure and major engine damage, and any part not replaced carries no warranty — it may also void the warranty on new parts fitted. Some cars also have a balance shaft belt as well as the cambelt; both need replacing to protect you from an expensive repair bill.
If you are unsure what your manufacturer requires, call us and we will let you know.
